October 28, 2025

Mary Wade is pleased to announce the appointment of Melanie M. McCloskey, DNP, MSN, RN, to its Board of Trustees. Melanie brings over 40 years of experience in healthcare and a deep commitment to improving the lives of older adults and vulnerable populations in the community.

Melanie recently retired from Yale University, where she served as Assistant Clinical Director of Ambulatory Services and Student Health for 25 years. Her extensive experience spans clinical nursing, leadership, and advocacy, including work with the frail elderly population and the homeless. She has also founded and manages a community engagement program that helps individuals with limited mobility improve computer skills and reduce social isolation during the winter months. Her contributions have been recognized with the SHERO Award for community service.

Her professional credentials are extensive, including a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Sacred Heart University, Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from McGill University, and board certification as a Nurse Executive (NE-BC). Melanie is also certified in Managing Health and Chronic Conditions in Older Adults from the USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology and recently completed the Sigma Mini Academy: Global Advocacy program.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Melanie is an active volunteer in her community, assisting the homeless through street medicine and local shelters. She is fluent in French and enjoys outdoor running, which reflects her commitment to wellness in every aspect of life.

Mary Wade is honored to have Melanie join the Board of Trustees. Her expertise, compassion, and dedication to improving health outcomes will be invaluable as the organization continues to serve older adults and strengthen its community programs.
