Mary Wade is pleased to announce that Maria Olmo has been named Vice President of Residential Care Home. Maria previously served as Director of Residential Care Services and brings more than 25 years of experience in senior care, along with a deep commitment to older adults, their families, and the community.

Throughout her career, Maria has worked in nearly every level of senior care—from Home Health Aide and Resident Associate to Care Coordinator and Director. This experience has given her a deep understanding of the needs of older adults and their families and continues to shape the way she leads today.

At the heart of Maria’s approach is a simple philosophy: do everything with love. She believes that providing exceptional care means understanding each resident as an individual, listening to their needs, and creating an environment where they feel valued, supported, and connected.

Maria’s commitment to community extends well beyond Mary Wade. A respected community leader and advocate for older adults, she has served on the Fair Haven Aldermanic Electoral Committee, Fair Haven Day Committee, and the LeadingAge Connecticut and Rhode Island Residential Care Home Council, as well as other community initiatives.

At Mary Wade, Maria has worked to strengthen the Residential Care Home by creating opportunities for residents to remain engaged and connected. Initiatives such as resident ambassador programs, a resident-run store, faith services, and the Boardman Choir give residents opportunities to share their talents, build relationships, contribute to their community, and find purpose.

For Maria, residential care is about more than providing a place to live. It is about creating a community where residents feel known, respected, and at home.

In her new role as Vice President of Residential Care Home, Maria will continue to build on that commitment—leading with experience, compassion, and, as she has always believed, love.
